For almost 185 years, First United Methodist Church of Martinsville has remained faithful to the Word of God, proclaiming His greatness through worship, scripture study, and Christian action. These three basic ministry fields lie at the core of the numerous and diverse programs offered by our church.

From study and fellowship in small groups to service on foreign missions, our church has something to offer everyone. Come and worship with us this Sunday!

In the past few years, First Church has yielded to the sweltering summer heat and held "Dress-Down Sundays" during the month of August. On Dress-Down Sundays, we encourage everyone to worship with us dressed in casual and comfortable attire.

Dress-down Sundays have become so popular that we will extend them this year. Dress-Down Sundays will be held this year from July 6th through August 31st. If weather permits, lemonade and cookies will be available under the Willow Oak tree in the front lawn of the church before and after the 11:00 a.m. worship service each Sunday
